30 Challenges for 30 Days of Growth - Day 4

Happy New Year!  We spent the first day of the year constructing our pool fence - only one panel left to go, but we need to buy one more post and the shops are closed.  We also had DH's elderly mother over for lunch to celebrate the New Year and I was pleased to be able to put my flowering Phalaenopsis Orchid on the table.  I was given the plant in April 2010 in full bloom, and this is the first flower it has produced since it has been in my care.  The petals are a little marked from the rain we had earlier in the week, but it is still delightful.
