Days 144 - 149/366

Thank you all for your kind "Get Well" wishes, I am feeling much better now. I missed Day 144 unfortunately, but here are the rest of my week's efforts :)

Day 145/366

We are getting ready for a party!  My daughter was 18 a couple of weeks ago and tomorrow is her party night.  I baked 30 chocolate cupcakes tonight in readiness.

Day 146/366

The birthday girl and her cupcake creation - she and her friend decorated them with sugar and chocolate hearts.  I thought I would play around with a focal black and white effect on Picasa, just for fun.  The party was a great success - what a relief!

Day 147/366

I  apologise sincerely for this terrible photo.  I have blurred the edges to make the real blurriness less obvious.  I am not sure what I was thinking when I took it, but blame it on lack of sleep! (see Party above).  This is my Mum's 70th Birthday quilt and I am at the attaching-the-borders stage.  I laid it out on the floor, took this shot and promptly packed it up again - no time today :(

Day 148/366

Another sign that winter is on it's way, our  Zygocactus have started flowering.

Day 149/366

I work from home and also at my various client's workplaces, so my office has a dual purpose as my creative space as well.  This is the noticeboard on my right.  Amongst the bits and bobs there is a list of 33 ways to stay creative.  The last suggestion is "Finish Something"....I must get around to doing that soon! :)

Days 135 - 143/366

Well, it was one of "those weeks" last week so apologies for my late post which is coming to you from the comfort of my bed as I am now home with a nasty cold.  I am taking advantage the situation to get up to date with my photos and do a bit of computer housekeeping.
I did not get the chance to take a photo everyday due to the week's events, so I have shared a couple of my spare photos from other days.

Day 135/366

Our magpie family babies are growing up and getting more adventurous.  I came home briefly between clients to pick up some paperwork and found these two birds skidding around on our glass outdoor table, they also used the cane chair backs to clean their beaks!  They were not at all worried about me taking a photo and I did not use the zoom, I was that close.

This is a close up of a glass plate that was made by one of my husband's clients.

Day 137/366

On Wed and Thurs I work in a very basic office with not much to see other than the brick walls so there are very limited photo opportunities.  The business I work for wholesales children's toys amongst other things, but I rarely get to see them as the warehouse is in another state.  Today we did get a Snoopy inflatable in the mail - not sure why - but I took a shot and then made a negative image just for fun!

Day 138/366

A work-in-progress.  This is the quilt for one of the ladies in my sewing group who will be having a special "0" birthday this August this year.  We have all made 5 blocks each using the quilt-as-you-go method to make this quilt.  It is now resting a while at my place as I have volunteered with another lady to do the binding...I am a bit of a procrastinator so I will have to get my act together to make sure it is done
:)

Day 139/366

This is one of my "spare" shots as I got home from work too late to take a photo.  Picassa was being a bit uncooperative and wouldn't let me edit the photo.

Day 140/366

Now the weather is cooling off the Poinsettia trees are flowering everywhere.

Day 141/366

My husband is an avid fisherman and right now he is obsessed with beach fishing.  So at every opportunity he disappears to his not-so-secret fishing spot.  Early on Sunday morning I decided to join him and had a great beach walk with lots of beach combing.  I spotted this toadstool/mushroom growing in the sand, something I have never seen before.
And for the record, this is the only thing my husband caught... a Shovel Nose Shark or Ray.  We threw it back but it took a while before it got the idea of heading out to sea instead of swimming back to shore :)

Day 142/366

I started the day with a tickly throat and ended up coming home early from work with a full blown head cold.  The tissue box is my best friend now!

Day 143/366

Someone's pleased I'm home. Coco is quite a small cat when she is on four legs, but she can stretch out to a great length when snoozing on the bed :)

Days 129 to 134/366

Day 129/366

A very chilly sunrise on my morning walk. The swell was rising and this set of waves was thundering against the rocks

Day 130/366

Another cold morning walk with the moon setting over a Norfolk Pine Tree. We are having some beautiful weather!

Day 131/366

It's a bit hard to see, but there is steam rising from the washing I had just hung out under our verandah.  It looked amazing curling up into the air, but was a bit difficult to capture with my camera.

Day 132/366

A dear friend bought me this beautiful glass bauble a few years ago and it hangs near my bedroom window.

Day 133/366

I spotted this cloud and thought it looked like it had a nose in the middle.

Day 134/366

Two photos today.  I ended the day wandering along the beach whilst my hubby did some fishing.  The ocean was so warm.  I took lots of photos and had a giggle when I spotted this perfect pair of seagull footprints in the sand.  I don't think the seagull in the photo is the owner of the footprints but it looked so tranquil at the water's edge with the sunset reflected in the water.

Sunday 6 May 2012

Oh Oh I missed posting Day 120/366

Whoops, forgot Day 120 so here it is!
What an amazing caterpillar, it really was pink!  I wonder what sort of moth/butterfly it turns into.

Days 121 -128/366

Another big post today, I think this works best for me.  So here we go....

Day 121/366

I pass this gorgeous Tree Dalhia on one of my morning walk routes.  It is very tall - I am on tippy toes to capture this shot -  the bees were very busy in the flowers and it was only 6.45am

Day 122/366

Here is my new car.  We are downsizing now the kids are all grown up, no need for the big family car anymore:( It's cute, easy to park and it's my favourite colour:)

Day 123/366

A playground near our place.  I love the colours!

Day 124/366

Not sure if this is a Coleus plant as the leaves are not furry, but I just love the colours and how every leaf on the one plant is different.

Day 125/366

It has been a while since Coco graced my blog.  This morning she was very smoochy as I was getting ready for work. When I was ready I found her purring on the back of the lounge in a patch of sunlight.  Cats know where to find the best resting places!

Day 126/366

It's my birthday today and it's Saturday so I don't have to go to work, whoo hoo!  My darling hubby prepared a special breakfast and my daughter had decorated my dining chair with streamers when she came home late..with assistance from Coco of course.

Day 127/366

If you look closely there's a bird on our bird bath - it's a Cat Bird.  It has a really weird call which sounds like a cat having it's tail stood on (yes, strange but true!).  It stayed on the bird bath for ages, watching me, but not scared at all.
