Happy Chinese New Year. I keep forgetting to take a picture of my dragon and finally remembered today after being stuck for a photo idea. This is the Year of the Dragon and as I am a Dragon, I hope this is going to be a great year :)

Australia Day and due to the weather we didn't do anything much at all today. However, I did finish another UFO!!!Apologies for the creases :)
Now to start thinking about a quilt for my Mum's 70th birthday....

It's a very wet and windy day here on the East Coast and I am working at the office of one of my clients. It's a showbag business so I have some unusual office companions!

It's been very showery here over the last few days. The best part of a rainy day for me is my beautiful rainbow umbrella.

Not the best shot at all, but it's the best I can offer today. I went op shopping and back-to-school shopping today with my daughter and found her holding up this record album in an op shop. I grabbed my camera, not checking the flash and this is the result. I couldn't take another shot as an official lady came over to investigate the flash of light. We guiltily continued browsing, trying not to giggle.

We took a drive up the dirt road to North Beach for a change of scene after a weekend of work and chores, but the weather was stormy so we didn't stay out long. This is my husband surveying the surf. We thought that someone may have put the drift wood like that to mark a good fishing spot.

Our maggies are back

We had the wonderful treat of listening to a young magpie practising her song whilst enjoying a sip of cool water from our birdbath. We love our magpies and have been priviledged to have a nesting pair in our street bring their babies to us every year. We rescued the mother bird one year after she had been hit by a car and I don't think they have ever forgotten what we did. Some people have had bad experiences with magpies, but we are fortunate to have only positive experience with our "Maggy" family.

I had to make it a double contribution today, sorry ;) My daughter is off to her first 18th birthday party and the theme is "Out of the Jungle". She has some fabulous floaty trousers in a snake print, and some funky snake earrings, so she decided to continue with the snake theme. I got to do a bit of body painting for her and will do her eye makeup later.

I am sitting in my office/sewing room doing some bookkeeping work, still pondering on my contribution for today, when I turned around and saw the late afternoon sun on the table runner I am finishing off. My first action was to take a photo, my second was to move it out of the sun!

Friends reunited!

This is my unofficial photo for today. I have just spent a few special hours with a school friend I haven't seen or been in touch with for over 30 years. It was wonderful discovering so many similarities and coincidences in our lives. My friend lives in Sweden now but we must have nearly crossed paths many times over the years. I am so glad that we have been reunited.

Two official photos for the challenge today. I was having a cup of tea outside this morning and spotted a bird having a bath in our bird bath, by the time I reached for the camera it was shyly standing on the rim. My lovely tea cup and tea pot were a gift from my daughter.

I like to start my day with a walk, usually with my darling hubby, around our neighbourhood. I am lucky to live near the sea so there are lots of opportunities for photographs. So it's another sky/ocean shot today, I just couldn't resist the dramatic sun and clouds :)
